Foods To Avoid Before Going To Sleep
1. Chicken

Chicken meat is the first food on our list. Mainly because it’s one of the most consumed foods at late nights. Who doesn’t want a crispy chicken sandwich, or chicken nuggets, at night, while watching a movie? Chicken contains a lot of protein and it is healthy. However, you should not be eating it before bedtime. Why? Because it slows down digestion and thus it may interfere with the sleep.

2. Chocolate

We know what you’re thinking: Nooooo, chocolate is like the most delicious comfort food! It’s a real shame that we have to list it. But, chocolate has ingredients that act on the human nervous system and activate it. Hence, if you eat it before bedtime, it may keep you awake!

3. Spicy Foods

If you love spicy food, it’s better to eat it during the day. At night, it can cause heartburn.

4. Bacon

Bacon is very greasy and unhealthy. Even for the day, it’s a no-no. Thus, avoid eating it before bedtime. Fatty food can upset your stomach, making it more difficult to digest food. Especially during the night.

5. Wine

Yes, we know that most of you go to restaurants for dinner, and that you love to drink a glass of wine with the fancy food. Or maybe two, or sometimes even three. But, you should know that this alcoholic drink can disturb your sleep, waking you up in the middle of the night! And don’t forget the thirst! During the night, your body will beg for water, disturbing your dreams even more!

Foods To Eat Before Bedtime
1. Milk

A glass of milk is a great drink for you before bedtime! It has a lot of amino acids, which will help you fall asleep in minutes, like a baby.

2. Cherries

Eat cherries before hitting the bed. Since they contain melatonin, they’ll help you fall asleep more easily.

3. Jasmine Rice

Have you ever tried jasmine rice? This long-grained rice has a high glycemic index, meaning that it slowly releases glucose in the human body. Usually, foods with high GI boost production of tryptophan, which in turn can help you fall asleep more easily.
