Here’s How To Exterminate The Annoying Fruit Flies In Your Home
We have all experienced this situation a million times: dozens of little tiny flies flying around the fruit bowls in our home. And, no matter what you do, they keep coming back and annoy you! This is why we bring you a simple trick that really works wonders. It won’t allow those small fruit flies to become a problem!
How To Get Rid Of Fruit Flies In Your Home
All you need for this trick are lemons and a knife. And, apart from repelling the fruit flies, with this trick, your entire kitchen will smell amazing – lemony and fresh!
Here’s what you need to do:
Take 3-4 lemons and cut them in half. Then, put the lemon halves in the oven, on the top rack. Leave the oven door open overnight.
When you get up in the morning, close the oven and turn it on, to heat the lemons. Once you start to feel that the lemon scent has started to spread, turn off the oven. Open the oven door and leave it to cool down.
When the lemons cool down to room temperature, throw them away. Repeat this routine as many times as necessary.
How and why this trick works? The annoying flies and other insects cannot stand the smell of lemon or ascorbic acid. So, this trick will help you keep them away from your kitchen and fruit bowl.
Yet another great trick is to make a fruit fly trap. Take an empty plastic bottle and fill it with several pieces of ripe fruit, for example apples and melon. Then, add apple cider vinegar on top of the fruit. Using paper, create a funnel with a very narrow lower part. Place the funnel in the bottle-neck.
The fruity smell will attract the flies, and once they enter inside the bottle, they won’t be able to get out.
Note: To prevent fruit flies spreading across your home, don’t leave rotten fruits or vegetables in the kitchen or any other of your rooms.
