Sugar Paste Depilation
In recent years, one of the oldest hair removal methods, used by the Egyptians, has gained popularity again and, due to its numerous advantages over waxing, many beauty salons are already offering it.
We’re talking about sugar paste. The sugar paste is much more gentle with the skin and less painful than the waxing treatments, due to which it is highly searched in beauty salons. Also, it does not require the hairs to be at full length, but only 3-5 millimeters long, in order to achieve best results.
One of the biggest advantages of the sugar paste is the fact that in it helps successfully solve the problem of ingrown hairs. Namely, the abrasive properties of the sugar, acting as a light exfoliation, help remove the dead cells from the skin.
The results of this treatment last from 4 to 6 weeks, and the more you repeat it, the less hairs you’ll have. Don’t you love this?
How To Make Sugar Paste At Home
– 2 cups of sugar (preferably brown sugar)
– 1/4 cup of lukewarm filtered water
– 1/4 cup of lemon juice
– 1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
Pour the sugar in a cooking pan and put it on a low heat, allowing it to dissolve. While the mixture is still thick, add the lemon juice, honey and filtered water. Start stirring with a wooden spoon, and continue to do so for about 5 to 10 minutes, while keeping the hot plate at low temperature. When the mixture turns reddish-gold, turn off the heat and remove the pan from the hot plate.
Stir with the wooden spoon until the surface foam disappears, and then pour the mixture into a glass bowl.
What’s very important is to achieve the right temperature of the paste, before applying it to your skin. Allow the paste to cool off a little, but not too much because it will become thick and hard. For best results, you need it to be lukewarm.
Take small amount of the sugar paste, form a ball and then press and stretch with your fingers, until it becomes light and somewhat transparent.
Put some baby powder on your skin, with the help of cotton swabs. This will help you remove the hairs more easily. Then, apply the paste to the desired area, in opposite direction of the hair growth, and remove it with a quick movement, in hair growth direction. After removing the layer, repeat the process all over again. Form a ball with the same paste, apply it on your skin and pull. When the paste exhausts and stops removing hairs, take new amount of sugar paste.
