How To Steam Food With Aluminum Foil

If you are tired of frying, and you don’t want to eat unhealthy, perhaps the time has come to start with steaming. This is not only the healthiest method to prepare food, but it’s also super easy!

For the preparation, you will need:

  • A little bit of aluminum foil
  • Deep cooking pan
  • Heat resistant plate

Method of preparation:

First, take the aluminum foil and cut it into three equal parts (the parts should be bigger). Next, form balls with the pieces of aluminum foil. Place these balls into the deep pan, arranging to form a triangle.

Then, arrange the food you want to steam in the heat resistant plate. Season it with salt and black pepper, to prepare it for the cooking. Place the plate on the aluminum foil balls. Pour some water into the pan, and be careful not to spill any on the plate.

In meanwhile, turn on the stove, so that the plate can warm up. Close the pan with a lid, and put it on the hot plate. How long you’ll steam the food, depends on what you’re cooking. For example, if you’re cooking fish, you need to steam it for 8-10 minutes.

Here’s how long you’ll need to steam certain foods:

  • Green peas: 3 minutes
  • Arugula and spinach: 3 minutes
  • Cauliflower, green beans and broccoli: 5 to 7 minutes
  • Potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, white turnip: 8 to 20 minutes
  • Marrow-stem Kale: 10 minutes
