How To Remove Skin Tags Naturally At Home
Skin tags are soft flaps of skin, which extend from different parts of the body. Medically, they’re known as acrochordons, and do not cause any pain, unless irritated by frequent rubbing or twisting. They pose no threat, but can make some people overly cautious about their appearance.
You can safely remove skin tags at home in several ways. But, before you try to remove them by yourself, consult with your doctor.
How To Safely Remove Skin Tags At Home
The following skin tag removal remedies have been recommended by many people, who have tried and successfully gotten rid of the skin tags.
1. TagBand Device
The TagBand device is created specifically for the safe removal of skin tags. It comes as a comprehensive kit, with everything you need to remove a tag in several days. It’s very simple to use.
First, clean the skin with one of the supplied pads for cleansing. Then apply one of the bands around the device, and push it to the top of the cone. Attach the band remover and make sure it touches the band. Place the hollow cone over the top of your skin tag. Once in place, push the band remover towards the skin and pull away the cone. This will secure the band round the base of the skin tag. In the next few days, the band will stop the supply of blood and oxygen to the skin tag. Eventually, it’ll die and fall off.
This device comes in two sizes. One for small skin tags, and the other one for medium-sized and large skin tags.
2. Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil has many medicinal properties and is effective in treating a wide range of skin problems, including the removal of skin tags. All you need to do is soak a cotton swab in tea tree oil, and then apply the oil on the skin tag 3 times a day. Make sure you hold the cotton swab to the skin tag for at least 10 minutes, to allow the oil to penetrate. The reason why we’re using cotton swabs is to ensure the oil doesn’t come into contact with the skin around the tag. If the tea tree oil irritates your skin, blend it with a carrier oil, such as coconut oil, and then apply it on the skin tag. This however, could mean that it’ll take a little longer before the oil effectively removes the skin tag.
Iodine is an element that helps break down skin cells, allowing them to safely fall off. Therefore, you can apply liquid iodine onto the skin tags on a daily basis, and in a few days, they will fall off. But, be persistent in the application of this treatment!
When applying iodine, avoid contact with the surrounding skin. You can use a cotton swab for the application. Or, you can apply some coconut oil on the surrounding skin to protect it, and then apply the iodine onto the skin tag.
4. Dandelion Juice
Dandelion juice has a content rich in mineral and vitamins, which help break down and remove skin tissue. Simply squeeze out the milky sap from the dandelion root, and apply three drops onto the skin tag, three times a day. In about 4 weeks, your skin tag should fall off.
