How To Make Fish Broth

You will need:

  • One fish head (avoid using oily and strong scented fish such as salmon, sardines, herring, eels, etc)
  • Two chopped carrots
  • One chopped celery
  • Two chopped onions
  • A little bit of olive oil
  • 2 liters of water


First, rinse the fish head with water to remove any blood from it. Then, in a large pot put one tablespoon of olive oil and add the carrots, celery, and onions. Stir the ingredient well and add salt and black pepper. Then, cook the veggies on medium heat for about five minutes or until they become tender. Next, add the fish head and give a good stir. Let it cook for another five minutes. Then add the water, stir it once again and cover the pot with a lid. Bring the fish broth to a boil and let it cook for an hour.

Once cooked let it cool, then strain the liquid.  You can refrigerate it and use it whenever you need it.
