Without Harsh Chemicals, But With The Same Effect: Make Your Own Organic Softener That Doesn’t Cause Skin Allergy
For all of you who do not like or are allergic to popular commercial softeners, non-organic, full of harmful chemicals and artificial perfumes, here’s a recipe for a homemade softener.
According to usual media advertisements, you will conclude that the softener is something without you can do your laundry. Softeners make your laundry squashy and nice smelling. But from the eco point of view, you should avoid it or at least use it on rare occasions or, better yet, make your own organic softener.
There is no need to spend more money and buy fabric softener anymore. By using these three ingredients you will make your homemade fabric softener that will be eco-friendly and won’t cause any allergic reactions on your skin, but it will leave your clothes soft and with a pleasant smell.
DIY Organic Softener At Home
You will need the following ingredients:
– 2 cups of hair conditioner (it doesn’t matter which brand you use)
– 3 cups of white vinegar
– 6 cups of warm water
First, take one plastic container and in it add the hair conditioner and water. Next, with a whisker mix these ingredients until the hair conditioner completely dissolves in the water. Once you’ve done that, in the mixture pour the white vinegar and whisk one more time.
Pour all of the mixtures into a bottle, and shake it well. That’s it, your organic fabric softener is ready. Use it whenever you do your laundry.
If you want to go organic even further, you can replace the hair conditioner with a cup of baking soda and 20 drops of your favorite essential oil. What you need to do is to add the essential oil to the baking soda and then mix it with the water and white vinegar. Just like the previous method, you should put the mixture in a bottle and shake it well before you use it.
