Homemade Sore Muscle Rub

For the preparation of this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

– 1/4 cup of coconut oil
– 1/4 cup of olive oil
– 1 tsp. turmeric spice
– 1 tsp. ground ginger
– 2 tsp. cayenne pepper
– 1/4 cup beeswax
– 15 drops of your favorite essential oil (preferably peppermint oil)

Put the olive oil and coconut oil in a double boiler, to melt. Add the turmeric, ground ginger and cayenne pepper, and mix to combine. Then, add the beeswax and mix until you get a homogenous mixture. Remove it from the heat and allow it to cool down a bit. Add the peppermint essential oil, stir to combine, and then transfer it in a storage container. Once cold, the rub is ready for use.

Massage the painful area with the prepared muscle rub. Cover it with shrink-wrap and then tie it with a warm, woolen scarf. Keep the lining for about 2 hours. After you remove the lining, it’s recommendable to keep your joints and muscles in a calm state. Thus, the best time for this treatment is before bedtime. You’ll feel results of improvement right after the first treatment, but you should repeat for 6-7 consequential days.

Note: If your pain continues after a week of treatment, it’s best to consult your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.
