How To Make Egg In Bread For Breakfast

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

  • Bread (you can use any type of bread you what: whole grain, white, rye, gluten-free)
  • Large eggs (the number depends on how many bread slices you want to prepare)
  • Butter
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Biscuit cutter, or a cookie cutter


Take a slice of bread and make a hole in the middle of it, with the help of the cookie cutter. Then, butter up the bread slice on both sides. Take a nonstick small frying pan and put it on the stove. Turn the stove on a fairly low heat, to avoid burning the bread. Place the bread slice on the pan and cook it for one minute. Then, gently flip it on the other side.

Drip a few drops of olive oil in the middle of the bread (center the hole). Crack one egg and pour it in the hole of the bread. Be careful as you crack the egg, not to drop any piece of the shell in the pan. Also, try not to break the egg yolk.

Season the egg with a little bit of salt and ground black pepper. Cook the bread slice with egg for about 2 minutes. Then, gently flip it on the other side and leave it for a minute. Switch off the stove and serve. You can serve it with tomato slices and spring onions, or with shredded beet and carrot salad. Enjoy!
