A chocolate, according to scientists, is quite justified because it will help you to have a better and more peaceful start on the day and concentrate on the tasks which await you.

Dark chocolate is rich in cocoa and includes many vitamins and minerals. Dark chocolate contains the following substances: fiber, proteins, vitamins K, B3, B12, iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, selenium and manganese.

Cocoa, on the other hand contains more than 300 chemicals that have a positive impact on health. First of all, cocoa is extremely rich in antioxidants that fight free radicals and slow the aging process and prevent many diseases. Actually, cocoa contains the highest concentration of antioxidants compared with any other foodstuff. Among these antioxidants polyphenols, catechins and epicatechin are included.

The scientists who conducted the study were trying to find out exactly how dark chocolate affects the mental energy, and therefore they engaged volunteers who daily drank one of the following four drinks: coffee with cocoa, coffee without cocoa, coffee without caffeine and nether coffee or cocoa.

It turned out that subjects who drank beverages with cocoa quickly responded and gave more correct answers. And with that, they were less anxious than those who consumed pure caffeine.

Note: Even if dark chocolate is healthy, you should not exaggerate in its consumption. Just eat around 20 grams of dark chocolate a day (3-4 pieces). Always buy the darkest and organic chocolates (80-99% cocoa, 0 grams sugar).
