The most common scalp problem occurs in two forms: oily and dry dandruff. Oily dandruff, or seborrheic dermatitis, occurs in the form of greasy yellow flakes. They are formed on the scalp and stick to the head and hair. Dry dandruff occurs in the form of dry white flakes on the scalp, falling from the hair. The most common symptoms of this condition are itchiness, redness and oily or dry scalp, depending on the type.

What Causes Dandruff To Form On Our Heads?

Head dandruff occurs when the cell renewal process of the skin is interrupted, or shortened, causing fast peeling of the pink cells, which then become visible flakes. This process is known as a skin proliferation, started by the microorganism Malassezia globosa that feed on the natural lipids and oils produced by the scalp. This microorganism irritates the scalp, causing microinflammation and itching of the scalp.

Flaking of the scalp, in the form of white or yellow flakes, is the main symptom of dandruff. The skin is our largest organ, constantly being renewed. While the old cells die, new ones replace them. Sloughing is the most apparent problem with this scalp condition, which is primarily an aesthetic problem.

You can prevent flaky scalp if you maintain a healthy hair care. You can control it by using the commercially sold anti-dandruff shampoos, or by the use of homemade remedies. The commercially available products usually show results after a month of use. However, they can often stress your hair and skin. On the other hand, the natural remedies take a long time to show results. But, if you care for your skin and hair, you should choose the natural healing treatments. You just need to be patient, as they are very effective in treating this problem completely.

Today, we show you a homemade remedy that fights dandruff.
