Fortunately, there are some risk factors that we can control. For example, we can change our way of living and prevent hypertension.

Poor eating habits, i.e. eating foods rich in fats and low in fiber and minerals increase the possibility of hypertension. Thus, people who have this problem should be on a special diet. Also, the absence of physical activity may lead to an increase in both, systolic and diastolic pressure.

Obese people increase the chances of developing hypertension. However, when proper diet and physical activity are combined, you’ll be able to maintain an ideal body weight.

People with chronic stress have high blood pressure, which can be controlled by regular relaxation, meditation, and yoga.

People who drink more than 1 to 2 alcoholic drinks a day increase the blood pressure levels, and may trigger various health complications. Smoking habits are also bad for the blood pressure. Namely, the tobacco narrows the arteries and may lead to various problems related to the heart and blood vessels.

How To Deal With The Problem

The best way to prevent and alleviate the progression of the diseases is a moderate, healthy lifestyle. Proper nutrition, physical activity, and meditation, as well as regular health checks with your doctor can help you control the blood pressure.

If necessary, consult your doctor and consider taking medications to regulate your blood pressure.

Remember, regular blood pressure control can reduce the risk of heart inflammation, stroke, kidney damage, and atherosclerosis.
