1. Multi-Purpose Cleaner
This multi-purpose cleaner is one of the best cleaning products for windows, kitchen countertops, and bathroom surfaces. For the preparation, you need a spray bottle (preferably glass), 1 cup of water, 1 cup of white vinegar, 2-3 drops of lemon essential oil and 2-3 drops of tea tree essential oil. The instructions are very simple. Namely, all you should do transfer the ingredients into the glass bottle and shake to combine.
Spray this cleaning agent on windows and countertops, or any other surfaces in your kitchen, as needed. Remember, before every use you need to shake the bottle, as the ingredients inside might separate.
You can also use this mixture to kill germs and fight molds in your bathroom. Just spray the affected areas and leave the cleaning agent to dissolve the accumulated debris.
2. Unclog Drains
Do you have problems with clogged drains in both, your kitchen and bathroom? If yes, there is a simple solution for this. All you need to do is mix 1/4 cup of salt, 1/4 cup baking soda, and 1/4 cup potassium bitartrate (cream of tartar) in a bowl. Et voilà, your unclogging agent is ready to use!
Pour half of the cleaning product down the drain, and then top it with 2 cups of boiling. Allow it to do its work for about an hour. In the end, rinse with cold water. This should fix the problem. But, if the drain is still clogged, then pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain, and top it with 1 cup of white vinegar. Allow it to do its work overnight. In the morning, pour 2 cups of boiling water and your problems will be solved for sure. This cleaning product works well for both, bathroom and kitchen drains.
3. Oven Cleaner
Are you using your oven most of the time? Is there residue that cannot be removed for a long time? We have a solution for that! In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup of Castile soap, 1/4 cup of coarse salt and warm water, enough to make a thick paste. Line the interior of the oven with a layer of the prepared paste, and leave it overnight. In the morning, using warm water and a sponge, remove the paste. Then, rinse with white vinegar, to remove the residue.
4. Disinfectant Wipes
This cleaning product is different from the others because it’s reusable. So, good news here is that there will be no waste! For the preparation, you will need a plastic container for the wipes, and 20 squares of fabric, like old T-shirts or dish towels. Then, you’ll need 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1 cup of water, and 8 drops of each of the following essential oils: eucalyptus, tea tree and lemon.
Place the squares of fabric in the plastic container. Combine the white vinegar, water and essential oils, and pour the mixture into the container. Once the fabric squares absorb the mixture, they are ready to use, as needed. Once you use the last one, wash the fabric squares in the laundry machine and reuse them by repeating the process.
5. Dishwasher Cleaning Agent
After cleaning you dishwasher with this home-prepared cleaning agent, it’ll work like it’s brand new. And, what’s great here is that you don’t need to spend too much money! Necessary ingredients for this cleaning product are 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar.
To do this, first you need to prepare the dishwasher. Remove the racks and clean the dirt around the crannies and drain. Then, return the dish racks and set the baking soda in a small container, on the top rack. Repeat the same with the white vinegar, but place it on the bottom rack. Turn on the dishwasher. When the rinsing cycle has finished, allow it to rest with closed door for about 20 minutes. This will provide the dishwasher with a natural steam clean. After that, open it and give it a rub.
